  • Context

    Dog owners have less and less time to spend with their pets; it's harder for them to go for a walk when they come home late at night, when they are tired and it is cold outside. After having crossed the city with the subway to go home, it's even more difficult to think that you'll have to go out again to walk your dog, especially since your group of friends is waiting for you to have a drink after work. Nowadays, it is already hard to find some time four yourself when it is time to come home late, and even more when it is time to walk a dog. Then it becames a bigger and bigger responsibility to adopt a pet which need such a great amount of attention and care when you are working as an busy executive or late in the evening. Regarding the incoming technology, in some cities of the future, inhabitants will be surrounded by connected objects, and some drones are already used for the delivery of mails, parcels, food orders, especially in the United States. Those drones can also walk your dog safely : some solutions already exist, but not in Europe so far. This is where we can do something about it : we imported this concept in France so as to improve this technology. Thus, thanks to our dog walking drones already developped and working, your pet will feel better and less lonely. He will be able to walk around and stretch its legs This walk is essential for its physical and mental balance; your dog will be healthier (having exercised) and in a better mood (not having been locked in an apartment/a house all day long). More globally, our application allows almost any dog to get its daily walk even if you are busy and don't have any time for this.

    Target

    As explained above, we want to propose this offer to market it in France for the city inhabitants of the future. What kind of person would use our application ? The persona would be a dynamic executive who is often on the move or working late in the evening. More globally, it is someone who works a lot or doesn't have a lot of time to devote to his/her dog. Yes, we know : if someone adopts a dog, it is a reponsibity that must have been reflected on beforehand. But our application allows people who still love their dog to delegate a little part of responsibilty to our drones. Thus, the framework would rather be a person between 25 and 45-50 years old, having a good salary, being someone who likes new technologies (because it is a very disruptive way to walk a dog), single, living in a big city and having a very busy job with late hours. The dog would be rather small or even medium sized (a big dog could easily carry away the drone, being to heavy for it), well educated and it will not be a puppy (puppies aren't used to walks to behave well with a drone).

    Our service

    So what do we offer ? Our drone has a 30-minute autonomy range that would safely walk your dog down the street. How does it work ? The dog's owner simply sets the desired time for leaving the house, the day and the route to follow on his phone thanks to our application and the drone will start automatically. Be careful, every owner must at least attach the dog's leash to the dog and to the drone. Thanks to a camera and a microphone, the owner can see, hear and talk to his dog. Then the drone performs the programmed route thanks to the GPS of the phone by going to the dog's rhythm and respecting its safety on the street : it stays on the sidewalks, place itself as much as possible on green areas and as far as possible from roads. The drone is equipped with a protection that allows the dog to be taken out even in rainy weather without damaging the equipment. The drone can also walk your dog when it is dark during winter evenings because it is equipped with a light located on the drone's front. This drone is resistant to temperature variations, it can operate outside with an ambient temperature ranging from 0 degrees to 30 degrees. Finally, if the pet owner decided to change the route at the last minute, he or she can perform it directly from his/her phone by taking the commands and leading the dog and the drones with the GPS.

  • How to use the App

    The app is quite simple to use and interactive. When you open the app, you are given the choice to activate WalkmyDog. This takes you to the homepage of the app which offers several choices. The first option you have is checking what your itinenary was the last time you used the drone. You can also choose to directly activate your last itenary for a new walk. You also have the opportunity to have a map displayed on your screen, which enables you to locate the drone at any time and follow the walks in real time. From this map, you can program an itinerary or, during a walk, choose to go home. You also have an "Emergency" button if needed, which will automatically send the drone and your dog back home. At any time, you can activate WalkmyDog's camera to see the drone's point of view. Finally, from the home screen, you can also program an itinerary at the time of your choice. You can check the weather and save locations to help your programing. It is also possible to change the route at the last minute and taking the commands of the drone directly from your phone.

    Technical details

    The different tools we are going to use

    Our service is based on a software connecting our application to our drones. Therefore, the GPS and driving system of the drones are connected to the app so that the destinations can be downloaded and the routes calculated. Our drones are equipped with the latest technologies in terms of obstacle recognition and avoidance.

    The app will also be linked to our database and have access to users' profiles in order to be able to propose the latest walk they done but, more importantly, to save datas such as the kilometres their dog travels every day. Also, the performance of the drone is always enhancing its performance with the help of Artificial Intelligence. The more walks will be performed, the more the drone will be able to recognize quickly the obstacle. Then, everytime the drone goes out the app will record datas to be able to propose new itinerary to improve the experience of your dog. Furthermore, if you do not want to go in a specific street, the drone will avoid the street to ensure your will and the security of your dog details thanks to the app.
